Our Approach to Veterinary Care
We believe that good veterinary care begins with good communication. Before any recommendation is made, we take the time to understand your pet’s health history, your household situation, and your priorities. We do not believe one size fits all, and we work with you to develop a care plan that makes sense for your pet and your budget. Our goal is a calm, low-stress visit for both you and your pet, every time you walk through our door.
A Family-Owned Practice
Homer Animal Hospital is family owned and operated. Our founding veterinarian, Dr. Paramjit Sidhu, has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1987, earning his Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry from P.A.U. He previously contributed to public health through his work with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and co-founded Norgate Animal Hospital. At Homer, he and the team bring that same dedication and experience to every patient.
Our Veterinary Team
Our team includes Dr. Gurinder Sidhu, Dr. Paramjit Sidhu, Dr. Ryan Bhatt, Dr. Tegveer Shahi, and Dr. Kahlon, all practicing as general veterinarians with a focus on compassionate, evidence-based care for dogs and cats. Each veterinarian brings a collaborative approach to complex cases and communicates clearly with pet owners about options, risks, and what to expect. Support staff including our hospital manager Amanda and veterinary assistants Michaela, Lauren, and Becca complete the team.
What We Offer
We provide a broad range of veterinary services under one roof, including pet care and wellness, same-day urgent care, medical services, surgical services, dental care, in-house diagnostics, nutrition counseling, wellness programs, end-of-life care, laser care, and pet travel documentation. Our in-house laboratory and digital imaging equipment allow us to assess your pet quickly and accurately, often during the same appointment.
Our Facility
Our clinic at 421 Pacific St is designed to be welcoming and low-stress. We offer a calm waiting environment, a pet-friendly exam room setup, and the option to wait in your car if your pet is anxious about the waiting room. For clients who need flexible payment options, we accept iFinance payment plans. New clients are welcome, and we offer a complimentary first exam for newly registered patients.
Serving Vancouver Pets
We are proud to serve the Vancouver community, including clients from the West End, Downtown, Kitsilano, Yaletown, Mount Pleasant, and surrounding neighborhoods. Our hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For after-hours emergencies, we maintain a list of 24-hour emergency facilities in the Vancouver area and are happy to help you find the right care when we are not available.
